Jenna, as always I love your writing -- I'm sure that there have to be more books in your future. I always wish for some windfall for you -- it shouldn't have to be this hard. I think your pigs probably have it better than you right now. But I'm sure the summer will bring some good fortune, if only the softer days. Take care of yourself!

Thanks for the kind words! And I am hopeful for more books!

I am certain people will start supporting the substack more when they are more comfortable. And if they are comfortable and not supporting, then I just need to write better or more to be worth it. I believe if I keep working hard, creatively and on farm, that if nothing else, people will want to support someone who won't give up. Or, if they won't support it, they will unsub.

But I am hopeful those who stay to see the story will care and be invested enough to want to see things get better. Or at least, respect the stubbornness. I can only keep going and hope there's value in it, or those who see value in it find me! That's why I am so pushing people sharing the substack!

Sending all my love from another country dyke. I think you're on the right track. In the words of the Indigo Girls, "Love will come to you."

Perfect, just right. You do you, and when the time is right for romance, THEN it will be right! That's all I meant.

Damn girl! I relate to this so hard. I've been burning the midnight oil working as both a baker and a musician (late nights, early mornings, and a strict daily routine subject to catastrophe—not unlike farming). I'm also lying in the bed I've made in a big way, deciding to choose a spiritually fulfilling path even if that means working myself to the bone and taking a different approach to life milestones. No romance for me this summer either, but I have friends and music and fresh bread, and that's gonna be enough. Anyway, I feel for you. Great post and good luck to you as always ✨️

That is a lot! I hope you keep going, and playing, and baking! That sounds like a very rich life.
