Hilarious/miserable update! The plumbers were able to come today, and replace the burst copper pipe of hot water to the bathroom.

The cold water pipes were still frozen. They, however, were whole so they left me with instructions on the best way to thaw them.

I went upstairs to get a fan to move wood stove heat under the house, and when I came back downstairs, the cold water pipe had burst beside the hot water pipe. Hundreds of dollars spent, water working for exactly 20 minutes, and now water is shut off again.

Just to say, I’ve been reading your blog since way back and when and I think you are already dealing with winter crises of burst pipes with far more confidence than you had initially!!! (Although you don’t need my, or anyone else’s approval!).

As you say, you’ve got over 10 years of farm ownership under your belt now

I think that's true!!! Remember the old days?! I WAS A MESS! But thanks to not quitting and medication, I'm starting to get the hang of it!

Thanks for the reminder to look into my local foodbank - just set up a small monthly donation! And *maybe* this is the year I finally get chickens. Maybe. If nothing else it would give my dog something to bark at 24/7. 😂 Growing potatoes for the first time is already on the calendar...

I really appreciate your being forthright re: your experiences, Jenna. Your life - hell, life in general - is not a magazine or some perfect soap opera. It's an imperfect mess, which makes it so much more interesting. Some people are often slaves to perfection. As for what's happening in our country and the world, burying our heads in the sand is not the way to go. Remaining current with the news is necessary; taking care of each other, paramount, especially on a grassroots level. Thanks for posting!
