You could have said only this and it still would have been one of the most perfect things you’ve written. Sending love your way. You already have the light. ❤️
Oh god, I’m so sorry. I remember the dreams of shepherding and going to field trials and something close to the day he came home. I remember the hope and the love you showed each other.
I lost a dog this past summer in much the same way you described. It was heart-wrenching watching his last days and weeks. Carrying him around the house. The hope in the good days and the sadness when he stumbled. I still call him at times when I feed the other dog.
All I can say is thank you for sharing the life you and Gibson led together. He was the best good boy.
Your words and all the growth you’ve experienced since bringing him into your life are such a fitting tribute to a steadfast soul like his. Goodbye scratches for Gibson and big endless hugs for you.
Jenna, I am so sad for your loss. Your partner in your life will always live in your heart and memory. Those of us who have followed you for so long understand how immense your pain must be. How you took care of your dearest companion at the end was so fitting and beautiful. Gibson was lucky to be loved so completely by you as you were by him. Sending you loving thoughts today❤️
This hurts my soul to read. I’ve been with you (almost!) since the beginning starting by with a binge in 2012 to get up to date and I feel like I knew Gibson just a little bit, and loved him a whole lot. I know these words can’t begin to help… but so much hope and love and light coming your way from afar during this difficult time <3
So very sorry for your loss, Jenna. For we farmers, these dogs are more than just pets. They're our dearest partners in everything we do. Everything we love. Gibson was blessed to have such a life as you have given him and I know you will treasure forever the memories you made together. Sending love and strength in this difficult time.✌️
Oh, Jenna. This was beautiful and devastating to read. Thank you for sharing with us. I am so sorry he's gone.
*I have some photos of him from some of my visits to the farm and I'm not sure if I ever shared the original files with you. Please let me know where I can send them, if you would like them.
“Gibson is the first light…”

Thank you to everyone who sent a kind word or comment about Gibson. He meant the world to me and it is so beautiful to see such support.

Good dog.
That’ll do Gibson.
((((((Jenna)))))) I'm so sorry Jenna. He had a great life with you, as you know.

Nothing quite like the life shared with a good dog. What a beautiful way to honor that and him.

I’d love to see them, you were at the cabin in VT?!
Oh, Jenna. I'm so so sorry to read this.
Gidson was a gift of a companion and you were lucky to have each other. Be gentle with yourself.
